Patriotic Pet Parade!

Lots of small towns and neighborhoods have parades to celebrate the Fourth of July. We will be watching one from my parent's front yard tomorrow. So in honor of July 4th, parades, and pets in costume, I am proud to present an online 4th of July pet parade. Please put on some patriotic band music and enjoy:



Fluffy enjoys the freedom to jump out from behind walls and furniture to bite you.



Mr Happy Pants enjoys the freedom to pass gas any time and any place.

Lady GaMeow enjoys the freedom to wear bows as big as she wants



Squirrel Nutkin enjoys the freedom to gross you out and run in front of your car to make you swerve.

Rufus lets you piss him off, but he's too cool to do anything about it. Freedom.

Bam Bam enjoys the freedom to sunbathe as often as possible.

Tic Tac is literally enjoying his freedom as he usually lives in a cage in a 10 year old's bedroom.

Sandy enjoys the freedom to wear Union Jack glasses, even though it's the 4th of July.

Regina is wasted. And that's just fine because she is at home and amongst friends.

Mango was Born This Way.

Peppers enjoys the freedom to tinkle wherever she sees fit.



Bruno enjoys the freedom to be who he is.

In the Spring, Poppy lays chocolate eggs filled with sugar. In his off time he enjoys the freedom to be promiscuous.

Ralphie enjoys the freedom to choose....not to smile.

Boom boom and Nibbles enjoy the freedom to be in an interracial relationship

Mr Whiskers wants to make you an offer you can't refuse. But you are free to decline.... or not.



Snowflake probably lives in New Orleans.



 In all seriousness, I think it's important on national holidays to remember what our Country is really about and to turn our thoughts to those who fight for our freedom and also to their families and friends who sacrifice so much. For me, our country is about the respect, honor, and dignity of all people, races and religions. It is about coming together for the common good and everyone working hard to protect the values we hold dear. It is about remembering this: Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

So if you pray then pray and if you don't then raise your thoughts to all the men and women who have lost their lives or made great sacrifices over the last 236 years of our nation's shared history. This photo to me says a lot about what America is:

And for God's sake, eat a hot dog, have a hamburger, put on your bathing suit and make a cocktail. It's July 4th and it's hotter than the devil!
